Please get in touch with Jeanmarie Giordano, co-chair of the Scholastic Book Fair, to volunteer your time at the fair, if you haven't yet had the chance to do so. It takes a lot of helping hands to stage the book fair, which has become a vital PS 29 institution that helps forge in our kids a life-long love of reading. We raise funds through the fair to support our other literacy efforts; earn lots of books for our library; and, most significantly, help make finding just-right books really fun for the kids.
Parents of children new to the school are encouraged to volunteer for the fair; it's a great starting point for involvement!
Your support can take a variety of forms: volunteering your time, sending your child in with a few dollars to buy a book on his/her class shopping day, and making your own shopping visit to the fair. Please take a few minutes to stop by for refreshments and browse the selection as an apt follow-up to this Friday's Families As Reading Partners (in your child's classroom, 8:30-9:10 AM). The fair takes place in the outer cafeteria - and we look forward to seeing you there!
