PS 29 is privileged to host a special concert evening with legendary guitarist/composer MARC RIBOT. TOXIC MUFFIN, the rock band of sixth-grade PS 29 alums, JACOB SLADE (bass), TINO TSANOS (drums), OLIVER PERRY (guitar), and PS 29 4th grader ARI TSANOS (keyboard and vocals) - will open the evening. TOXIC MUFFIN debuted at the '06 PS 29 Talent Show! Marc Ribot, former member of the LOUNGE LIZARDS, returns to the PS 29 stage after an eight-city European tour this February, with his group SPIRITUAL UNITY. Marc has performed on ELVIS COSTELLO's SPIKE, MIGHTY LIKE A ROSE, and KOJAK VARIETY; MARIANNE FAITHFUL'S BLAZING AWAY; and TOM WAITS' RAIN DOGS, BIG TIME, FRANK'S WILD YEARS, MULE VARIATIONS, and REAL GONE. Marc's latest CD, EXERCISES IN FRUSTRATION, was released last month. All proceeds from the concert benefit PS 29!
