If you saw a bustling bake sale and lemonade stand in the schoolyard last Thursday at pickup, you might not have realized that it was entirely organized and produced by a quartet of third-grade girls: Alexandra Giles, who spearheaded the plan, along with Elizabeth Cloutier, Sophie Scavuzzo, and Abby Futterman. The girls all pitched in to bake, provide infrastructure (cups!), advertise, and sell. In total, they raised $172 in astoundingly short order - including a $10 donation from Mr. Softee! - with all proceeds already donated to the PS 29 PTA! Ka-ching! Thank you, girls!!
