The PTAs of Brooklyn’s elementary schools are coming together to sponsor a 5-kilometer race/walk/stroll/toddle in Prospect Park on Friday, June 13th! Registration begins at 6:00 PM (6/13/08) at the Lincoln Road Pavilion and the race begins at 7:00 PM.
Participants pay the registration fee ($15 individual/$25 family), and then, if they want to help raise additional money, find people to sponsor them. There will be prizes, medals - the works! After the race, there will be parent organizations tabling, face painting, music, and other community building and information-sharing activities.
Want to help our PTA be involved? All we need to do is sign on and recruit 20 participants to share in the proceeds! The profit will be divided as follows:
- 50% of total will be divided evenly among all participating schools (those who recruited 20 or more participants),
- 50% of the total will be divided among schools based on number of students in the school.
